Starting Your Care Journey
What to Expect from Your First Phone Call to Your First Visit

Step 1 – Get in Touch:
Your journey begins with a friendly phone call, email or enquiry through our website. One of our experienced team members will take the time to listen to your situation, discuss the type of support you may be looking for and answer any initial questions.
If we believe we can help, we'll arrange a convenient time to visit you in your own home for a free care assessment.
Step 2 – Your Free Home Care Assessment:
One of our experienced assessors will visit you at home, where you feel most comfortable, to have a relaxed conversation about you, your daily life and the support you may benefit from.
We'll take time to understand what is important to you, what you enjoy, what you currently manage independently and where a little extra support could make life easier.
Family members, friends or anyone important to you are very welcome to be present if you would like them to be.
Step 3 – Understanding Your Individual Needs:
During the assessment, we'll discuss every aspect of your wellbeing so that any support we recommend is tailored specifically to you.
This may include:
-
Your daily routine and personal preferences
-
Personal care requirements
-
Medication support
-
Mobility and moving safely around your home
-
Nutrition, hydration and meal preparation
-
Any medical conditions or diagnoses
-
Memory or cognitive support
-
Communication needs
-
Your hobbies, interests and social activities
-
Your home environment
-
Any equipment or adaptations already in place
-
The support currently provided by family or friends
-
Your goals, wishes and the outcomes you would like to achieve
Every conversation is centred around your choices, your independence and the way you want to live your life. Our role is to carry out relevant risk assessments to support how you want your care delivered.
Step 4 – Creating Your Personalised Care Plan:
If you decide you would like to proceed, we'll use everything we've discussed to create a personalised Care Plan that is completely unique to you.
Together we'll agree:
-
The days and times you would like visits
-
The length of each visit
-
The support to be provided during each visit
-
Your preferred routines
-
Any important personal preferences
-
How we will communicate with your family, where appropriate
-
Your review arrangements
This ensures everyone involved understands exactly how you would like your support delivered from day one.
This document becomes the guide our Carers follow during every visit, ensuring everyone supports you in a consistent way that reflects your routines, preferences and agreed outcomes.
Nothing is included without first discussing and agreeing it with you. We use electronic care planning so we can adapt to changes instantly.
Step 5 – Your First Visit:
When everything is in place, your Carer will arrive ready to support you exactly as agreed.
They'll introduce themselves, take time to get to know you and ensure you're comfortable before beginning any support. Building trust and positive relationships is just as important to us as delivering practical assistance, and we'll continue reviewing your care regularly to make sure it evolves with your needs.
You're Always in Control
Choosing care doesn't mean giving up your independence—it means gaining the right support to continue living life on your own terms. It also doesn’t mean you cant change what you want in your routine as Carers will feedback any changes you want to make (maybe you don’t want to get up at 7am anymore!).
Whether you decide to start care immediately, need time to think things over or simply want some friendly advice, we're here to help. Our assessment is completely free, with no pressure, no obligation and no commitment—just honest guidance to help you make the decision that's right for you.
